01

Overview

Meatware helps solo developers plan and execute software with AI that remembers their project. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: we manage the context around your work — not your source code, which stays on your machine.

02

Information we collect

  • Account information — your name, email address, and an authentication credential (a hashed password or an OAuth identifier from Google or GitHub).
  • Project context you create — the plans, hierarchies, user-flow diagrams, decisions, and documentation you enter into Meatware.
  • Usage and diagnostics — feature usage, device and browser information, and server logs we use to operate and improve the service.
  • Billing information — handled by our payment processor. We receive confirmation of a subscription; we never see or store your full card number.
03

Your source code and your Claude API key

Meatware is designed so your code stays with you. Your source files remain on your machine and in your own workspace. AI requests are made with your Anthropic Claude API key and go directly from your workspace to Anthropic — we do not proxy them, and we do not store, sell, or use your code to train any model.

04

How we use your information

  • Provide, operate, and secure the service and your workspace.
  • Authenticate you and send transactional email (verification, account, and billing notices).
  • Diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and improve the product.
  • Comply with legal obligations.
05

Service providers

We rely on a small set of subprocessors to run Meatware, including Anthropic (Claude), our cloud host, Cloudflare (edge networking and access control), an email delivery provider, and a payment processor. Each receives only the data needed to perform its function. This list may change as the product evolves.

06

Cookies and sessions

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to secure your session. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

07

Data retention

We keep your account and project context for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your data within a reasonable period, after which it rotates out of routine backups.

08

Your rights and choices

You can access, correct, export, or delete your data at any time. Your project data exports in standard formats — we do not hold your work hostage. To make a request, email hello@meatware.ai.

09

Security

We encrypt data in transit, isolate each user's workspace, and apply least-privilege access to our systems. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to notify you if that ever fails materially.

10

International data transfers

Our servers may be located outside your country of residence. Where we transfer personal data across borders, we take steps to ensure it remains protected consistent with this policy.

11

Children

Meatware is not directed to anyone under 16. If you are under 16, please do not use the service or send us personal information.

12

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product and our practices change. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date above, and for material changes we will provide a more prominent notice.
